XDCAM HD422 Dual SxS Memory Recorder
Introducing the PMW-1000 studio recorder with two SxS® card slots providing a wide range of AV and IT interfaces including HD-SDI, SD-SDI, HDMI®, and composite outputs. This half rack deck is able to play and record baseband video and provides legacy playback of FAT formatted SxS cards with .MP4 and DV-AVI video files created by XDCAM EX camcorders. The RS-422 interface and Gigabit Ethernet enables the PMW-1000 to be used as a player deck for linear editing and a feeder deck for non-linear editing.

50Mbps HD422 Recording Format

The PMW-1000 provides high quality recordings while maximizing recording durations on memory media as MXF files. Users can select recording and playback formats from HD (MPEG HD422 and MPEG HD420) and SD (MPEG IMX50/40/301 and DVCAM) in a variety of frame frequencies. Also, the PMW-1000 supports XAVC2 in the HD domain for future expansion of the broadcasting workflow. 1 Playback only. 2 4K not supported.

XAVC HD support for PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 Camcorders

The PMW-1000 supports 100 Mbps XAVC (1080/29.97p/25p/ 23.98p/59.94i/50i)* recordings on SxS media and allows easy XAVC HD playback and monitoring, making it an ideal recorder/player to work with the PMW-F55 and PMW-F5 CineAlta cameras. It also allows high-speed recorded content from both cameras to be played back in slow motion.

External USB Storage

The PMW-1000 is equipped with a USB 3.0 interface for connection to an external USB HDD. This enables users to copy clips directly to a USB HDD without employing any other devices; helping to reduce storage costs, and that means that users can make copies and backups simply and quickly.

Three-way Power Source Selection

AC, DC and battery power make this deck highly versatile and suitable for both in-house and field operations (ie studio or OB van).

Similar Operability to Tape-based Devices

Equipped with a job/shuttle dial and RS-422 control, the PMW-1000 provides VTR-like operation (Jog: -1 t +1 times normal speed; Variable: -2 to +2 times normal speed; Shuttle: -20 to +20 times normal speed). This enables easy migration from tape-based operation.

2-SxS Card Slots

Using Sony's new 64GB SBS-64G1A SxS-1A memory cards, up to 4 hours of 50Mbps MPEG HD422 video can be recorded (2 hours per each 64GB SxS-1A card). User can copy material between the two SxS card slots as well.
